| ALEXANDER PORTEOUS passed away on Sept 4, 2004 after a valiant struggle with cancer. He was born on May 5, 1926 in Hillcrest, Alberta to George C & Delia Porteous. He married Maxine Watson on Feb 27, 1944. Alex served his country in the armed forces from 1944-1946. Alex worked at many vocations - police officer, bus driver, coal miner & bricklayer. Alex & Maxine lived in Gladstone Valley for 39 years, moving to Lethbridge 5 years ago. Alex made friends wherever he went and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Maxine, his children Phil (Dawn) of Calgary, Jim (Julie) of Lethbridge, Babette (Larry) Jenson of Calgary, Laura (Dana) Hirsche of Raymond, Carol (Craig) Gross of Pincher Creek & Chris of Edmonton. He also leaves 16 grandchildren & 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services were held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Mountain Heights Chapel, West Lethbridge on Wed, Sept 8, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Friends met with the family from 10:00 to 10:45 prior to the service. Interment in the Mountain View Cemetery. |
